| This puzzle is solved in two phases. The first phase uses the rocks. The numbers written on the rocks represent indices into the text engraved on the larger rocks in the grove. (Note that the indices do not include the title of the rock, so "Dogwood Dell 1" gives the letter "L". Each rock proves two letters. Using the rocks thus provides two phrases: THIRD LETTER and SHIFT BY RING. This leads to the second phase of the solution, involving the ribbons. The first step is to locate the name on the ribbon in the commemorative circle of name engraved on the ground. The next step is to take the third letter of the name and shift it according to what concentric circle the name lies in. For example, Charles L Rose is in the 19th circle (counting from the inside), and has as its third letter and "A", so the "A" gets shifted 19 to become a "T".
