K - Solution

Puzzle Location: Woodside Town Hall
Next Puzzle: Rectangles

The first step of the solution is to realize that each set of three letters represents a Bay Area radio station's call letters, starting with the letter K. (For example, OIT represents the radio station KOIT.)

The next step is to determine the frequency of each radio station. (Teams were told via a pre-game puzzle to bring a Sunday paper, the "pink pages" of which contain a full listing of all the Bay Area radio stations.)

becomes
KSQL (99.1) - KOIT (96.5)
KKDV (95.7) - KALW (91.7)
KCSM (91.1) - KPOO (89.5)
KSFB (100.7) - KMGG (97.7)
KZST (100.1) - KRSH (95.9)
KFOG (104.5) - KSFB (100.7)
KKWV (93.3) - KSJO (92.3)
KEZR (106.5) - KBLX (102.9)
KFFG (97.7) - KTOL (96.7)
KPFA (94.1) - KUSF (90.3)
KMGG (97.7) - KJZY (93.7)
KSOL (98.9) - KSXY (98.7)
KBAY (94.5) - KUSF (90.3)
KFJO (92.1) - KQED (88.5)
KTOL (96.7) - KOIT (96.5)
KRPQ (104.9) - KDFC (102.1)
KIOI (101.3) - KLLC (97.3)

Performing the subtraction of the radio frequencies gives

Since most radios tune in increments of 0.2 MHz, the next step is to divide each number by 0.2, giving
