This puzzle was divided into five pieces and each team was mailed a single piece. What each team recieved was the above table, along with a single piece of string with one of the greek letters taped to it and a single hex nut tied to one end. (Each of the five strings was a unique length.) This way teams were forced to cooperate a bit in order to solve the puzzle, and there wouldn't be a lone team which failed to solve this puzzle and thus missed the start of the game.
